Terms and Conditions of Student Financial Aid
The Office of Financial Aid reserves the right to review,
adjust, or cancel an award at any time because of changes
in financial or academic status, a change of academic program,
or a discovery of errors in financial information provided
by the student and/or the student’s family.
The Office of Student Financial Aid is required to report
to the Office of Inspector General any student, LSUHSC-Shreveport
employee, or other individual that it suspects may have
misreported information or altered documentation to increase
student aid eligibility or to fraudulently obtain federal
funds.[34CFR 668.16(g)]
The school is responsible for reconciling any conflicting
information it has before disbursing Federal Student Aid
Funds to the student [34CFR 668.16(f)]
Students must notify the Office of Financial Aid immediately
upon receipt of any other scholarships, educational benefits,
income, or loans granted not previously reported on the
financial aid application.
Students must notify the Office of Financial Aid immediately
of any changes in name, address, enrollment status, marital
status or financial situation.
If the student does not meet the repayment obligations
on an educational loan or does not repay other financial
aid funds due as a result of withdrawal, receipt of other
aid, over-award, etc., the student will not be eligible
for future financial aid.
In order to receive federal financial aid the student
must meet the conditions of the “Satisfactory
Academic Progress” policy and maintain a matriculating status.
Medicine Students Only: The student understands that subsequent
payments of federal student aid may be delayed if the student
has not completed the academic work for the prior payment
period. In other words, the student cannot receive the
2nd or subsequent disbursements until they have successfully
completed the coursework already paid for and earned a
passing grade and credit hours associated with the coursework
during that payment period. Grades of “I”, “F”, and “W”
are considered non-passing grades. [34 CFR 668.22, 34 CFR
682.604(c) and CFR 685.301(b)].
